Assistant Planner or Planner

Compensation – commensurate with experience

Wynn Coastal Planning & Biology is a Private Consulting Firm located in Fort Bragg California, a small town coastal area of Mendocino County, located in Northern California. The firm handles private, commercial and public agency clients as an entitlement permit facilitator, advisor, and advocate for quality development.

An Assistant Planner or Planner (Planner I or Planner II), who could be described as either entry-level within their professional planning career, or a near or full journey level professional who can “hit the ground running” to assist in a growing practice. Applicants must be up for the challenge of navigating the complexities of the California Coastal Zone regulations, which includes easing the anxieties of clients required to comply with such regulations.

Our small firm is casual but professional. We maintain levity and a work/life balance, but always focus on delivering the utmost quality of service to our clients for projects within Mendocino County and beyond.

Minimum Qualifications
The Planner II/Junior position requires a requires a master’s degree with two years of experience in the planning, land use and/or environmental planning profession; alternatively, a bachelor’s degree and four years of professional planning experience.

The Planner I/Assistant Planner position require a bachelor’s degree in planning, land use and/or environmental planning in addition to one year of planning experience.

A successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to adapt to new situations, including interpretation and counterpoint positions in a variety of areas. This position also requires an ability to demonstrate the ability to grow professionally and learn. It is also fundamental to have a sense of humor and perspective to look for the bottom line advantage.
